It’s size is just a little bigger than Argentina. It’s population is just a little smaller than China. I had no idea. I knew there were a lot of people in India, but just a handful fewer than China?
The reaction we’ve gotten from people when we tell them we’re off to India is mind blowing. “oh, you will have the best time!”, “it’s really dirty there, bring shoes that you will throw away before you leave”, “are you crazy? I would never go to a place like that”, “you are?!?!”.
We are. Marci and I and our 44 pounds each. We are also traveling with our very dear friends Mindy and Roger. The four of us have been on adventures before. There was that time in the BVI that we ran out of rum…
In this adventure we’ll be traveling through Rajastan. It’s called a state. India is comprised of states, like the United States. We’ll fly from Newark to Delhi. A 14 hour flight. I have never been in a plane for that long. I have been told to sleep so I won’t be jet lagged and told that I have to walk around a fair amount so I don’t get clots. I may end up as one giant, exhausted blood clot by the time we land.
But that’s not for two more days. Now it’s the last minute things that occupy us. iPhone charger? Check. Extra digital camera card? Check. Shoes we can throw away when we leave India? Check.
Enjoy the journey!!!! Will be thinking of you and anxiously awaiting your updates!!!
